Grand Union Hotel

We had a wonderful visit to the Historic Grand Union Hotel in Fort Benton, located right on the river. We had a Junior Suite with great views of the river and the walking bridge. Dinner was delicious and a work of art! The staff were friendly and you could tell they enjoyed their work. There is a great paved walking path along the river.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. We love historic hotels and this one is beautiful and clasic, very clean and well kept. Definitely needs to be on the bucket list for Montana history buffs.

Beautiful location, incredible service at the restaurant, and dealing with everyone from reservations to check in! Had a large group Christmas party and they were able to accommodate all of us from age 7 months to 60+, and made special accommodations for us to have a great time. Dinner was incredible and a lovely local coffee in the morning!

The beauty of this magnificent old building is something to behold. The staff were really nice and accommodating. I am so happy we were able to stay there. To be able to experience a part of our states history was a worthwhile thing to do on our little vacation.

We had such a wonderful family dinner at the Grand Union Hotel during their Chinese New Year themed pop-up, and it was truly a special experience. As a Chinese mom, it means so much to share parts of our culture with my kids, and this event gave us such a meaningful way to do that. The festive red décor, the beautiful setting, and the thoughtfully prepared menu made the whole evening feel warm, welcoming, and full of joy. The food was absolutely delicious — comforting flavors, beautifully presented dishes, and a lovely balance of tradition and creativity. Watching my kids try everything with excitement (using chopsticks!) made the night even more memorable. The atmosphere was elegant yet cozy, the service was friendly and attentive, and the hotel itself is full of charm and history. We’re so grateful they put in the effort to host an event like this and create an opportunity for families to come together, enjoy great food, and celebrate culture in such a lovely space. Highly recommend checking out special events here — it was a night our family will always remember.

Every corner seems to whisper a piece of history, yet the rooms are incredibly comfortable, spotless, and beautifully maintained. The setting along the Missouri River is nothing short of breathtaking—peaceful, quiet, and the perfect place to unwind after busy days at the show. The food at the hotel restaurant was outstanding, with a menu that rivals any big city dining experience, and the service was impeccable throughout my stay. From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive restaurant staff, everyone made me feel truly cared for. If you're looking for a unique and elegant place to stay that combines Western charm with boutique luxury, this is it. A true Montana treasure.

We always enjoy a mini vacation at the Grand Union. Sometimes just a fabulous dinner but most recently combined with a Halloween night stay. What a fun night! Excellent dinner and cocktails and who wouldn't want to wake up looking at the Missouri River!

Way cool historic hotel. Service was excellent. Just to note there is no night desk staff and I was getting in late so they made accommodations. Staff was super friendly and helpful.
